Flex Labs Inc (FLEX) joined the Access segment on 15 December. The Canada-registered company is developing AI middleware for natural language processing text generators. There is no product yet. The introduction price was 3p, which valued Flex Labs at £3.42m. The share price ended the week at 6p.
Investment Evolution Credit (IEC) joined the Access segment on 14 December and raised £508,000 at 20p/share, valuing the online consumer loans company at £2.99m. The company currently focuses on the US but plans to move into the UK. In the US, Mr Amazing Loans offers loans of between $2,000 and $10,000 with interest rates of between 19.9% and 29.9%. Approvals are required to start offering loans in the UK. The core business is loss-making. The share price ended the week at 6p.
Shares in Semper Fortis Esport (SEMP) rose as shareholders agreed to the acquisition of Good Life + and the subsequent reverse takeover that occurs on 18 December.
Yooma Wellness Inc (YOOM) left Aquis on 15 December. The company has been put into voluntary liquidation.
China-focused eCommerce company Samarkand (SMK) reported a 1% dip in interim revenues of £8.1m, while the loss was reduced. There was growth in sales outside of China. Revenues from own brands rose 18%. VSA has downgraded its expectations for the full year because the recovery has not gained the anticipated momentum. Cost savings are helping to reduce the loss. The full year loss is still expected to fall from £4.7m to £3.8m. Samarkand could move near to breakeven next year.
Business assurance provider Adsure Services (ADS) generated revenues of £4.25m in the six months to September, which was prior to joining Aquis. There was an interim loss, but last year the second half was highly profitable. There are plans to diversify the customer base.
Retail carbon trading company Ora Technology (ORA) did not generate revenues in the period to July 2023. There was £1m in the bank at the end of July 2023.
In November, Guanajuato Silver (GSVR) increased month-on-month silver production by 23% to 295,284 ounces equivalent. The production improvement is set to continue into next year.
Marula Mining (MARU) is involved with local partners in applications for graphite mining licences at the Nyorinyori graphite project and the NyoriGreen graphite project in Tanzania. New processing equipment has been installed at the Blesberg lithium and tantalum mine.
Wishbone Gold (LON: WSBN) says visual inspection of core from recent drilling at the Cottesloe project in Western Australia show zones containing base metals while x-ray fluorescence scanning shows elevated base metals readings. Assay results will make things clearer.
Newbury Racecourse (NYR) has appointed Shaun Hinds to replace Julian Thick as chief executive.
IamFire is raising £1m at 1.5p/share and it has changed its name to WeCap (WCAP).
EPE Special Opportunities (EO.P) had net assets of 300.48p/share at the end of November 2023.
Marallo Holding Inc has acquired 1.75 million shares in NFT Investments (NFT) for a total cost of £47,375. Michael Heald has increased his stake in brewer Adnams (ADB) from 21.4% to 23.5%. Oscillate (MUSH) non-exec John Treacy has bought an initial 880,000 shares at 0.54p each.

Recruitment firm Impellam (IPEL) has finally agreed a takeover offer after months of being in a bid situation. HeadFirst is offering 557.2p/share in cash and 392.8p/shares in loan notes for each Impellam share. Shareholders will also receive the 55.9p/share dividend announced, plus a further cash dividend of 22.4p/share and a in specie dividend of 56.1p/share. This all adds up to 1,084.4p/share and values Impellam at £483.2m. The non-convertible loan notes offer annual interest of 17% and last an initial 3 years. The convertibles have annual interest of 12% and the total loan amount can be converted into 20% of the bid vehicle.
Venue management software supplier Skedda Inc has proposed an 82p/share offer to SmartSpace Software (SMRT) valuing it at £25m. The share price has not been that high since 2021 and it jumped 103% to 70p, still well short of the bid level. JO Hambro, which owns 8.3% of the software developer, is supportive of the offer. Skedda believes that it can provide the financial backing that SmartSpace Software requires. The SmartSpace Software board is considering the offer. The company is currently loss-making.
Dispute resolution services provider Driver Group (DRV) moved back into profit in the year to September 2023, mainly due to higher gross margins. The £1.1m pre-tax profit was still lower than the £2m reported for 2020-21. The cost base has been reduced and additional projects have been won. Net cash is £5.8m. The final dividend is 0.75p/share and management says that there is around £1m of surplus capital that can be used for share buy backs. The core businesses will be rebranded Diales and there are plans to move into other sectors, such as aerospace and IT.
Defence and forgings company MS International (MSI) more than doubled interim pre-tax profit from £3.46m to £7.72m. Revenues improved from £42m to £57m. The defence business returned to profit and generated all the revenue growth. That offset lower contributions from other divisions. Net cash is £50m. There are £57.5m of contract liabilities on long-term contracts and NAV is £43.4m. Deliveries for US navy contracts begin in the second half.
Shore Capital has reduced its 2024 and 2025 forecasts for pawnbroker H&T (HAT). The pledge book is growing faster than expected and an additional £10m of funding was recently secured. That additional profit is offset by increased wage costs following the raising of the National Minimum Wage. There will also be higher interest costs. The dividend is likely to grow by a lower percentage than previously anticipated. The 2024 revenues have been edged up to £261m, while pre-tax profit is reduced from £36.7m to £39.7m. A higher tax rate means that there will be a 10% drop in earnings estimates to 62.8p/share.
There is a continued decline in the share price of energy and water efficiency company Eneraqua Technologies (ETP) after the announcement that two local authorities are delaying spending. There is also a £900,000 exceptional charge relating to defective equipment. A loss of £6m is forecast for 2023-24.
Phase 3 trials of the grass allergy treatment developed by Allergy Therapeutics (AGY) show highly statistically significant reductions in symptoms compared with a placebo. There will be a meeting with the regulators in the first quarter of 2024.
Image Scan (IGE) returned to profit in the year to September 2023 as revenues were 50% ahead at £3m. A further improvement is expected this year. The order book is worth £650,000 with a pipeline of potential work that underpins further growth.
Former ITM Power (ITM) boss Dr Graham Cooley has acquired a 6.6% stake in Distil (DIS). This follows the drinks company’s £765,000 fundraising at 0.35p/share.
MAIN MARKET
RM (RM.) expects 2022-23 revenues from continuing operations to decline from £214.2m to £196m, which includes £19m (£33.6m) from Consortium, which is being closed. The educational technology provider expects to have a significant write-own relating to that business. Management is renegotiating lending facilities.
Kitchenware retailer ProCook Group (PROC) reported an underlying interim pre-tax loss was reduced from £2.8m to £2.2m. Revenues fell, but gross margins have improved, helped by lower freight charges. High street sales are growing, although online revenues have declined due to problems that have been sorted out. In the most recent eight weeks sales were 1.5% ahead
S and U (SUS) says net receivables have grown from £417m to £446m since the half-year end with the growth coming from the car finance and property bridging divisions. Management is cautious about prospects.

Third quarter revenues of National Milk Records (NMR) were 15% higher at £6.5m. The core milk testing revenues were 14% ahead, helped by price rises. Genomic testing revenues more than doubled. Milk prices have fallen, but they are still relatively high. Canaccord Genuity still expects a dip in 2023 pre-tax profit from £2.4m to £1.9m.
Watchstone Group (WTG) has been unsuccessful in its £63m claim against PricewaterhouseCoopers concerning a breach of confidentiality. It is considering an appeal.
TruSpine Technologies (TSP) admitted that it failed to inform shareholders that a loan announced in February included a fixed and floating charge over the company’s IP.
KR1 (KR1) has invested $500,000 into Web3 venture studio Code and State through a Simple Agreement for Future Equity.
Cadence Minerals (KDNC) investee company Evergreen Lithium, where it owns 15.8 million shares (8.74%), has identified significant and widespread lithium at the Kenny project. A further £1.86m worth of shares could be issued to Cadence Minerals.
Goodbody Health (GDBY) shareholders have agreed to the cancellation of the Aquis quotation on 16 May. The shares will then be traded on the JP Jenkins platform.
TAP Global Group (TAP) has appointed Kriya Patel as chief executive of its main subsidiary. He is an experienced executive of e-money and financial technology businesses. He will receive five million LTIP options, plus a further 10 million LTIP options which will vest when certain milestones are achieved.
Ananda Developments (ANA) says a study suggests that cannabidiol plus terpenes has a more positive effect on acne than cannabidiol on its own.
Mark Horrocks has taken a 5.8% stake in Semper Fortis Esports (SEMP), while Chris Akers increased its stake from 19.5% to 19.6%.
Trading in Yooma Wellness Inc (YOOM) shares has been suspended until account are filed and the cease trade order is revoked.
AIM
Power Metal Resources (POW) has spun-off its Nevada mining interests into Golden Metal Resources (GMET). Power Metal Resources has retained a 62.1% stake. There was £1.98m raised at 8.5p when the company joined AIM. Trading started at 8.75p and ended the first day at 8.125p. There were 1.12 million shares traded on the first day and a total of 488,000 shares in the following two days. The share price ended the week at 8.125p. There are four assets: three wholly owned plus an earn-in option over a fourth.
Purplebricks (PURP) says that the number of new instructions did not increase in the fourth quarter and that means revenues and EBITDA will be worse than expected in the year to April 2024. The company’s payment processor is withholding a portion of remittances and cash was £9.1m at the end of April 2023, compared with previous expectations of £15m. The formal sale process continues, and management says that it wants to conclude this as soon as possible so the future of the business is clarified. Strike Ltd has decided not to make an offer.
Online builders’ merchants CMO Group (CMO) increased like-for-like 2022 revenues by 2%, but the market remains tough. In 2022, revenues increased from £76.3m to £83.1m, helped by acquisitions. Gross margins held up at 19.9% as sales of higher margin products offset the decline at Total Tiles, where there were problems with pricing. Overheads were increased following flotation on AIM and that is why operating margin dived from 3.5% to 1.5%. There was a boost of around £200,000 to operating profit due to a reduction in deferred consideration for a past acquisition. Pre-exceptionals profit fell from £1.5m to £800,000. Overheads are being reduced. Employee numbers are 15% lower than the peak last year and delivery costs are being controlled.
A&E Television Network is cancelling its contract with video editing technology developer Blackbird (BIRD) at the end of June. Last year, this contract contributed less than 10% of 2022 revenues of £2.85m. Blackbird is growing its revenues, including from licensing, but this contract loss will hold back the overall rate of growth. Blackbird has £9m in cash, down from £10m at the end of 2022.
Fulcrum Metals (FMET) is ranking targets for its Big Bear property on the Schreiber-Hemlo project in Ontario. Additional mining claims have been acquired at Winston Lake, Ontario. Results from the magnetic surveying at Tocheri Lake, Ontario, should be available early in the third quarter.
Credit hire company Anexo (ANX) reported flat 2022 pre-tax profit of £23.9m even though housing disrepair work helping to improve revenues. There were additional costs for vehicle emissions litigation against VW, which has some way to go before it is settled. A decline in pre-tax profit to £18.1m is forecast for 2023 as new credit hire business is reduced. That should help to improve cash collection and reduce debt.
Marwyn Investment Management has decided not to invest in footwear retailer Unbound Group (UBG) because of concerns about current trading. Marwyn had planned to inject £10m into the business at a placing price of 10.5p. That was the same level as the withdrawn offer from WoolOvers Group. Unbound has admitted that trading has worsened in the first quarter of the current year. Cash flow has to be carefully managed and banking covenants may have to be waived. Additional funds will be required.
Mineral sands project developer Capital Metals (CMET) has signed a potential 100% offtake and investment agreement with LB Group, which is the largest manufacturer of titanium dioxide pigments and sponge. LB Group will fully fund the Eastern Minerals project in Sri Lanka up to the estimated cost of $81m in the preliminary economic assessment. After that the joint venture will fund additional costs on a 50/50 basis. The plan is to build up production to 1.65 million tonnes per annum. Most of the due diligence for the deal has already been done.
Coal miner Bens Creek (BEN) says shareholder MBU Capital has sold a 29.9% stake at 18p a share to Singapore-based Avani Resources, which trades raw materials for steel and power production.
Brazil-focused gold producer Serabi Gold (SRB) has signed a strategic exploration alliance with Vale, which will assess large scale copper projects on the Palito Complex. There are four phases during which Vale can earn up to 90% of the project. Serabi would have a put option to sell the other 19% for $10m and a 1.5% net smelter royalty. There will be an initial $5m investment in exploration.

Packaging manufacturer and distributor Macfarlane Group (MACF) published an AGM statement Manufacturing revenues are 14% ahead in the first quarter and distribution revenues 4% higher. There are bank facilities to finance further expansion.
LED lighting and wiring accessories supplier Luceco (LUCE) says first quarter revenues were 5% lower. There is still some destocking in the current period. Lower freight costs will help margins. Finance director Will Hoy and related parties have been acquiring shares at up to 110p each.

Ananda Developments (ANA) is acquiring MRX Global, which has invented a method to formulate cannabis medicines, for £2.02m in shares at 0.3p each. The first formulation is MRX1, which will be used in two phase II randomised controlled trials to investigate the effectiveness of cannabidiol in chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy and in patients with endometriosis. These trials have £1.55m of grant funding. Directors of Ananda are shareholders in MRX, so the deal requires shareholder approval. These directors will a 3% royalty on net sales of any commercial products sold by MRX. Ananda has raised £326,000 through a subscription at 0.3p a share and there is a broker option that could lead to the issue of 33.3 million shares at the same price. Charles Morgan has converted convertible loan notes into 747.3 million shares at 0.3p each. Charles Morgan and Melissa Sturgess will own 53.8% of the company.
Altona Rare Earths (ANR) has raised £2m at 5p a share, which is more than the £1.25m it was initially seeking. This is part of the move to the standard list on 20 March. A maiden JORC compliant mineral resource estimate and a scoping study for the Monte Muambe rare earths project in Mozambique. Altona is increasing its stake in the project from 20% to 51%.
Vulcan Industries (LON: VULC) is acquiring Forepower Lincoln (250) Ltd, which has a 240MW lithium-ion battery storage project, for £2.6m in shares at 1p each. This means that Britt Foreman of Forepower Lincoln (250) Ltd has a 29.9% stake in Vulcan. The two companies have been working together for the past year and Vulcan can help to raise the finance for the project. There are plans to raise more cash to settle liabilities of £250,000 and continue to develop the project.
Invinity Energy Systems (IES) has sold a 220KWh VS3 flow battery to Dawsongroup, following a sale earlier in the year. STS Group and project partner Ideona have been appointed to deploy Invinity Energy batteries in Hungary, primarily for co-located solar and grid support projects.
Hot Rocks Investments (HRIP) published 2021-22 figures and interim figures to September 2022 and trading in the shares was restored. Net assets are £526,000. On 3 March, cash was £70,000. Optiva has been appointed as corporate adviser.
CBD products supplier Yooma Wellness Inc (YOOM) continues to restructure its operations, but it is still trying to find a way of moving the business forward. Following the exit from many businesses, the remaining businesses are in Europe. Yooma Wellness may have to sell other businesses if additional funds are not secured.
EPE Special Opportunities (EO.P) had an NAV of 334p a share at the end of January, which was a 27% decline. The decline in the Luceco (LUCE) share price was a major factor even though this stake has been reduced in recent years. Rayware was another poor performer. Quoted shell company Epic Acquisition Corp is reviewing acquisitions. An investment in dog snacks company Denzel’s was completed in October. Investments in Atlantic Credit Opportunities Fund and Prelude Structured Alternatives Master Fund.
Guanajuato Silver Company Ltd (GSVR) says a US institutional investor has acquired 24 million shares from Great Panther Mining and its other shares were bought by other investors.

A positive trading statement by NWF (NWF) has led to a forecast upgrade for 2022-23. Peel Hunt increased its pre-tax profit forecast by 42% to £17.5m, compared with £20.9m last year thanks to a bumper year for fuel distribution. The expected downturn in fuels profitability has not been as sharp as previously thought and the food distribution and feeds divisions are also doing better than expected. Net cash of £5.5m is anticipated at the end of May 2023 and there are borrowing facilities of £65m. This leaves plenty of scope for further add-on acquisitions of fuel businesses.
Franchise Brands (FRAN) reported better than expected 2022 pre-tax profit up from £6.5m and £12.8m and it plans to sell its B2C franchise businesses. The Filta business made a 10-month contribution last year. Net cash was £8m at the end of 2022 and the B2C businesses, which could be sold separately or in one disposal, will generate more cash. The next acquisition will be in the B2B area, and it is likely to be significant.
Gelion (GELN) is acquiring Johnson Matthey’s lithium sulfur and silicon anode patent portfolio for £4.25m. This will help Gelion to increase gravimetric energy density for its batteries and enable faster commercialisation of lithium sulfur technology. Gelion plans to sell the silicon anode patents and could receive around £1.25m for them.
Data analysis technology provider WANdisco (WAND) was considering a US listing, but it has discovered accounting problems leading to a suspension of share trading.
Steel structures supplier Billington (BILN) sparked a forecast upgrade with its trading statement. Not only were 2022 profit and cash better than expected, 2023 momentum is ahead of estimates. The 2022 pre-tax profit has been upgraded from £5.3m to £5.8m, while the 2023 figure is increased by £1m to £8m. The 2022 dividend is expected to be 15p a share.
In The Style (ITS) has completed a strategic review and is proposing the sale of its operating business for £1.2m and the cancellation of the AIM quotation. The online retailer is losing money and running out of cash. The purchaser is Baaj Capital, which has other fashion-related investments, including Officers Club. Chief executive and founder Adam Frisby will continue to run the business and take a stake. The company will change its name to Itsum.
Aferian (AFRN) says customer destocking of streaming devices has hit sales and they will be significantly lower than expected for this part of the business. Streaming video services provider 24i continues to grow. There should still be a positive EBITDA this year. The annualised cost base is being reduced by $5m. Annual results to November 2022 will be delayed while discussions with banks continue over future covenant compliance. At the end of 2021, Aferian secured a $50m loan facility from three banks, including Silicon Valley Bank, which lasts until 23 December 2024. BLOE
Gold explorer Panthera Resources (PAT) has entered into a conditional arbitration funding agreement with a subsidiary of Litigation Capital Management (LIT) for the damages claim against the Republic of India for breaches of its obligations under the Australia-India bilateral investment treaty. Up to $10.5m will be provided to cover the costs of the claim.
Amur Minerals (AMC) has completed the sale of the AO Kun-Manie project in Russia to Bering Metals. The $35m consideration should be received soon. A 1.8p a share dividend is planned, and Amur Minerals will become a cash shell.
Purplebricks (PURP) has received approaches for the acquisition of the company, or its businesses and the ongoing strategic review has been widened to include a formal sale process.

Networking and biomedical company BATM (BVC) reported a dip in full year revenues from $132.8m to $116.1m, partly due to a slump in Covid-related diagnostics income. Operating profit slumped from $11.3m to $3.7m. This was slightly better than expected. The networking and cyber division made a lower loss in 2022. There should be a recovery in revenues and profit this year. Moti Nagar has become chief executive.
Lookers (LOOK) has acquired vehicle hire and brokerage business Fourways Vehicle Solutions, which had revenues of £3.8m last year. This business could provide Lookers own rental requirements at lower cost.
Bluebird Merchant Ventures (BMV) has raised £1.22m at 2p a share to finance proof-of-concept funding at the Kochang gold and silver mine in South Korea. That is the same price as the previous placing. Production could eventually reach 5,000 ounces per annum. SI Capital has been appointed broker.

Hemp and cannabinoid products supplier Yooma Wellness (YOOM) is restructuring its business due to the depressed market conditions. Unprofitable activities have been wound down and management is still trying to come up with a new strategy. The 2021 Vertex acquisition is being handed back to the sellers and $1.2m in receivables has been assigned to them. The subsidiary in France is filing for a bankruptcy procedure. Yooma Wellness requires more cash and other operations may need to be sold. If not, then there could be insolvency proceedings.
Love Hemp (LIFE) has appointed administrators. Secured creditors have issued a notice of default requiring repayment of the £1.92m debt facility. Sales have slumped and a dispute with former managing director Philip Small has not helped.
Walls and Futures REIT (WAFR) is holding a general meeting on 23 February so that strategic investor Vengrove can raise cash for the company through a share issue. The number of shares in issue will be ten times as many as currently in issue. This will help Walls and Futures REIT scale up. Vengrove SI-REIT Advisors will become manager of the portfolio of assets. Pax Homes will be sold to Joseph McTaggart, so the group will no longer be a developer. Investments will be made in affordable rental housing, education property, service stations and car parks and community buildings. A portfolio of assets has been identified. The company’s name will be changed to Social Infrastructure REIT.
Music artist management and services provider All Things Considered (ATC) is estimated to have generated revenues of £11m in 2022 and the loss should be slashed from £2.7m to £300,000. Increased touring by music artists helped the business to recover. The company could breakeven in 2023.
Emissions reducing fuel ingredients supplier SulNOx Group (SNOX) finance director Steven Cowin has given notice and will leave the board at the end of March 2023. Four directors have option agreements with 6% shareholder RemNOx Ltd, which would enable it to acquire a total of 24.08 million shares at 30p each between 6 February and 28 February. That would mean that RemNOx would own 29.9% of SulNOx.
EPE Special Opportunities Ltd (EO.P) had cash of £24.5m at the end of January 2023. NAV was 334p a share, down from 456p a share. The share price recovered 5.71% to 185p. The Luceco (LUCE) share price decline was part of the reason. The company bought back 5.4% of its share capital at an average price of 139p/share. A £2m investment was made in premium dog snacks maker Denzel’s Ltd.
There are further delays in the provision of the £200,000 bridge loan to TruSpine Technologies (LON: TSP).
Newbury Racecourse (NYR) is raising its prize money by 16% to £6.06m in the 2023 season. Chairman Dominic Burke bought 6,250 shares at 815p each, taking his stake to 6.42%.
Res Privata NV took a 3.83% stake in NFT Investments (NFT).
Oberon Investments (OBE) appointed Paul Sheehan to its investment management team.
Greencare Capital has changed its name to MaxRets Ventures (MAX).

Managed IT and networking services provider AdEPT Technology (ADT) is being acquired by a private equity backed Wavenet, which also provides telecom services. The 201p a share bid is a 75% premium to the previous market price it is still well below past levels. However, shareholders will not get the 2.5p a share interim dividend. The bid values AdEPT Technology at £50.3m.
Hardide (HDD) revenues grew 39% to £5m with the prospect of another sharp increase this year. The advanced coatings company continues to broaden its sector and customer base in areas such as renewable energy. Hardide is expected to continue to be loss making but the cash outflow will reduce. There is enough cash following the sale and leaseback of the US facility for the immediate requirements of Hardide.
Communications sub-systems manufacturer Filtronic (FTC) has been hit by component shortages that held back progress in the first half and this will continue in the second half. The order book is worth £17m, which is more than the 2022-23 forecast revenues of £16.5m. A small pre-tax profit is expected for the full year and there should be a sharp recovery in profit as supply problems ease next year.
Alumasc (ALU) interim revenues were 5% ahead at £45 million, pre-tax profit fell 11% to £5.6 million. The corresponding period included high margin Chap Lap Kok airport project work for the water management division and the phasing of projects hit the latest figures. The figures exclude the loss making Levolux business, which has been sold. Management indicated its confidence in the future with the 1.5% increase in the interim dividend to 3.4p a share. The second half will be stronger than the first half, but pre-tax profit is expected to decline from £12.7m to £11.3m.
Songtradr Inc launched an agreed bid for music streaming technology developer 7digital Group (7DIG) and the 0.695p a share offer values the company at £19.4m. The share has not been at this level since September 2021. Songtradr is a music licensing company with a platform and technology that connects music rights holders to brands and content creators.
Clinical communications technology developer Feedback (FDBK) revenues are still modest, but they increased by 222% to £576,000. The £450,000 contract with a Sussex community diagnostic centre made a contribution to these revenues and is up for renewal. The new contract should be worth much more when it is renewed. This pilot project will help to show other potential clients that the technology works. Other NHS trusts are showing interest in the company’s services. WH Ireland cut its forecast for SaaS-based retail software provider itim Group (ITIM) because contract delays mean that revenues will be slower coming through. Annualised recurring revenues are £13m, which is lower than expected. Revenues recognised for 2022 will be slightly below previous forecasts and that increases the loss by £200,000 to £1.1m. The 2023 loss is expected to be the same. Net cash is £3.9m. The share price slumped by 24.8% to 37.5p. The June 2021 placing was at 154p.
The share price of credit provider Morses Club (MCL) fell a further 52.6% to a new low of 0.21p ahead of the cancellation of the AIM quotation. Asset Match will provide a matched bargains facility for the shares.
esports company Gfinity (GFIN) requires more cash by the end of March so management wants to raise £1.5m via a share issue. That will finance a corporate restructuring, invest in the Athlos technology platform and help the company to move towards breakeven. Gfinity has a market capitalisation of £3.1m, so the proposed share issue will be highly dilutive.

Used car finance and property bridging loans provider S&U (SUS) continues to do well despite weak consumer confidence. Group net receivables have risen from £370m to around £420m in the six months to January 2023. Full year figures will be published on 28 March. Full year pre-tax profit is forecast to decline from £47m – due to low bad debt provisions – to £41.2m. Net debt was £192m at the end of January 2023, compared with committed facilities of £210m. The second interim dividend is 38p a share. The full year dividend total is expected to be 132p a share.
Hamak Gold Ltd (HAMA) has commissioned a geophysical survey for the Ziatoyah gold prospect in Liberia. This will map the mineralised sulphide bearing metadolerite units where high grades of gold have been intersected.

Good Energy (GOOD) says trading to the end of October was in line with expectations, but the subsequent mild winter has reduced gas consumption. Risk management actions should enable the energy supplier to meet 2022 expectations. There was £21.2m in cash at the end of October 2022. Heat pump installer Igloo Works has been acquired for £1.75m. Last year’s revenues were £1m. This will form an energy services division.
Invinity Energy Systems (IES) has sold 15MWh of vanadium flow batteries to Everdura Technology in Taiwan. A deposit will be paid soon, and the first deliveries will be late in 2023. This is the largest ever single order and there is follow-on potential of 255MWh over three years and it will help to underpin 2023 forecast revenues of £23.7m.
Capital for Colleagues (CFCP) has acquired Staffordshire-based MI Accountancy Solutions, which already provides accountancy services to the employee owned businesses investor’s clients. The cost is £90,000 with a further £20,000 deferred depending on performance.
Hydrogen Utopia International (HUI) has entered an agreement with Fishertown Property for a proposed lease of a 2.5 acre site in County Longford. This will become its first full scale waste plastic to hydrogen in Europe. A €50,000 payment has been made and an option for the site is being negotiated.
Tectonic Gold (TTAU) has completed drilling at the Specimen Hill project in Queensland. This has intersected a geophysical target below high-grade historic mine. An adjacent target has also been intersected. Joint venture discussions will be pursued.
Guanajuato Silver Company Ltd (GSVR) produced 700,264 of silver equivalent ounces in the third quarter, which is more than double the previous quarter. Cash costs fell by 19% to $19.53/ounce. However, lower silver and gold prices meant that the loss increased.
Field Systems Designs Holdings (FSD) was still affected by Covid in the year to May 2022. The mechanical and engineering contractor’s revenues fell from £9.98m to £8.09m. That meant that the loss increased from £534,000 to £1.9m. Revenues from the water sector have not grown as expected, but work is coming through. More than £9m of work has been secured for this year.
IamFire (FIRE) has subscribed for £2m of convertible loan notes in WeShop Holdings, which could be converted into one million shares, while an existing £4m investment would convert into 1.33 million shares. IamFire has the right to subscribe for a further £1.75m of convertibles. IamFire also holds convertibles in a shell that owns 25% of WeShop.
Pioneer Media Holdings (PNER) generated initial revenues of $482,000 in the year to May 2022. There was a reported loss of $28.6m, after $25.7m of impairment charges and fair value changes on investments. There was a credit of $3.26m relating to changes on accrued consideration. The cash outflow from operations was $2.14m. There is cash of $1.65m.
Recently floated Cooks Coffee Company (COOK) increased interim operational revenues by 37% to NZ$1.93m. Overall revenues fell because of the timing of recognising capital revenues on store openings. Pre-tax profit improved from NZ$128,000 to NZ$146,000 as costs were reduced.
Africa-focused sustainable investment company Inqo Investments (INQO) increased interim revenues from R608,000 to R3.39m. The loss was slightly reduced at R5.18m after a sharp increase in employee costs.
Nine months revenues from Yooma Wellness Inc (YOOM) improved from $4.91m to $8.91m and the reported loss was reduced.
Marula Mining (MARU) secured a 73% commercial interest in the Bagamoyo graphite project in Tanzania, which includes 22 graphite mining licences.
In the six months to August 2022, Asia Wealth Group Holdings Ltd (AWLP) reported a decline in revenues from $940,000 to $844,000 and it moved from profit to loss. There was $1.19m in the bank at the end of August 2022.
Ace Liberty and Stone (ALSP) says that it received £3.07m from its open offer at 25p a share, compared with the £4.56m it was seeking.
Evrima (EVA) chief executive Burns Singh Tennent-Bhohi has made a £250,000 secured convertible loan facility available to the company. So far, £100,000 has been drawn down. This matures at the end of November 2023 and the coupon is 10%.

Online retailer boohoo (BOO) has increased its stake in Revolution Beauty (REVB) from 13% to 26%. Bob Holt has taken over as chief executive. The shares remain suspended and there are still concerns about the 2021-22 figures.
Digital media company Digitalbox (DBOX) has acquired The Poke (www.thepoke.co.uk) for an undisclosed sum. It picks humorous content from the internet, unlike the Daily Mash which writes its own content. The Poke generated revenues of £170,000 in the year to November 2021.
Duke Royalty (DUKE) reported a 67% increase in recurring interim cash revenues from its royalty investments and free cash flow was 1.71p a share. There was a further improvement in cash revenues in the third quarter.
First Property (FPO) reported a fall in reported profit due to one-offs, but the interim dividend was maintained at 0.25p a share. NAV is 48.3p a share, not including any valuation for the investment management business, which is more than twice the share price.
A trading update from Light Source Technologies (LST) says that farmers are reluctant to commit to capital investment and that has slowed progress leading to a higher loss in the year to November 2023. The growers are finding it difficult to pass on cost increases to customers, so they are not making the commitment to install the controlled environment technology. Also, contract manufacturing margins have declined.
Venture Life Group (LON: VLG) is buying HL Healthcare, which owns Earol, EarolSwim and Sterinase, for £13m. The products generated EBITDA of £1.7m in 2021-22 and they should do better this year – £3m of the consideration is dependent on 2022-23 revenues. Venture Life is expected to make a 2022 pre-tax profit of £946,000 and that could improve to more than £4m in 2023.
Telecoms customer engagement software provider Pelatro (LON: PTRO) says the currency movements between the US dollar and Indian Rupee will lead to a shortfall in reported revenues this year. Along with other factors, this will reduce revenues by up to $800,000, although the currency movements will have a positive effect on costs that partly offsets the shortfall. EBITDA will be slightly below expectations. Some new clients are moving to a licence model, which means revenue will be recognised earlier.
Luxury brand Mulberry Group (MUL) reported flat interim revenues with higher international sales offsetting a decline in the UK. Mulberry moved from profit to loss as marketing and other spending was increased. There was an £11.2m cash outflow from operations.
Compliance and maintenance services provider Kinovo (KINO) continues to improve its profit in the six months to September 2022 and it has a strong order book. Revenues improved by one-quarter to £29.8m in the first half. Margins continue to rise with underlying pre-tax profit recovering from £1.61m to £2.1m. Three-year visible revenues total £146m, which includes contracts and predictable spend. That underpins around 90% of the 2022-23 forecast revenues of £62.1m. Net debt has fallen to below £100,000. However, in the short-term debt will increase again because of the requirements to finish contracts that are part of DCB, which was sold and then went into administration. Part of the deal was that Kinovo would guarantee the completion of projects. This could cost a total of £4.3m.
Inspiration Healthcare (IHC) says that it expects 2022-23 revenues to be similar to the previous year because of market uncertainty, particularly in China. Cenkos has reduced its forecast revenues from £45m to £41.1m. Because the reduction relates to higher margin products it means that pre-tax profit will dive from £3.96m last year to £540,000 this year.
Floorcoverings distributor Likewise (LIKE) says third quarter like-for-like sales were 21.8% higher and in October and November this accelerated to 27.7%. Total sales have more than doubled this year.
Fox Marble (FOX) has won damages and costs in its arbitration proceedings with a customer in India. Damages were Euro383,177 and costs were £454,584. The customer has 28 days to challenge the award.

Antimicrobial and textile odour control materials developer HeiQ (HEIQ) has acquired the land and property of Chem-Tex Laboratories Inc in the US for $2.5m in cash and shares at 74.4p each. Securing the site will enable further expansion. The focus of manufacturing investment will be the US because of the availability of chemicals and the reduced exposure to rising energy prices.
Edward Spencer is requisitioning a general meeting at MetalNRG (MNRG). He owns 7.3% of the company and wants to remove the chairman and chief executive. He wants four people to be voted onto the board, including himself.
Highway Capital (HWC) has still not completed the acquisition of Guinevere Esports and Entertainment, which was announced in October 2021. Highway made an interim loss of £243,000.

VSA Capital (VSA) has launched the AQSE Apex Index, which has a base of 1,000 at the beginning of 2021. There are 21 constituents of the Apex segment of the Aquis Stock Exchange, including its owner Aquis Exchange. The index is weighted by market capitalisation and the total market capitalisation is around £1bn. New admissions to the Apex segment and companies moving from the Access segment to Apex are eligible for inclusion in the index at the next quarterly review. The index was 835.16 on 26 May 2022.
Gledhow Investments (GDH) made an interim loss of £293,000, due to a net unrealised loss of £435,000 offsetting realised gains. Net assets ware £2.37m at the end of March 2022. One-third of the current portfolio is invested in Aquis companies.
Interim revenues of rail track fastening technology supplier Wheelsure Holdings (WHLP) recovered from £56,000 to £93,000, while the loss was reduced from £117,000 to £105,000. The first order was received from the Barcelona Metro. The product range has been broadened and this will provide additional growth opportunities.
Probiotix Health (PBX) says that its partner in Uruguay is launching a probiotic yoghurt called Yo-Life, which includes the company’s cholesterol-reducing ingredient. There were more then t3wo years of product development prior to the launch.
First quarter revenues generated by Yooma Wellness Inc (YOOM) increased from $604,000 to $3.2m, partly tanks to acquisitions. There was a small rise in pre-tax loss from $2.38m to $2.5m. Yooma is reviewing its strategy.
There was a $367,000 cash outflow from operating activities at medicinal psychedelics investment company Oscillate (MUSH) in the year to March 2022. Net assets were $3.12m. Investments include Psych Capital, which is about to join Aquis. There are still resources and technology companies in the portfolio.
Eight Capital Partners (ECP) is holding a bondholder’ meeting to gain approval to extend the life of the bonds until 3 September 2026 and to set an annual interest rate of 4.8%. If approved bondholders will be issued warrants equal to the par value of their bond holding at a strike price of 0.05p a share.
Quetzal Capital (QTZ) is extending the deadline exercise date for a subscription of £500,000 of convertible loan notes in TAP Global to 30 June.
TruSpine Technologies (TSP) has raised £700,000 at 5p a share and issued shares at the same price to pay creditors of £77,500. Directors’ fees of £97,200 were converted into shares at 15p each. Rhe cash will be used to finance the FDA approval process.

Coral Products (CRU) is using some of its cash to acquire Runcorn-based Alma Products for an initial £1.5m in cash with additional consideration depending on the EBITDA for the year to April 2023. The maximum earn-out payment is £1.5m, which would mean that EBITDA had reached at least £600,000. Alma produces sheet extrusion, volume vacuum forming and container printed products for the food packaging and personal care markets. Alma owns the freehold of its factory, and it has up to date capital equipment.
Cancer diagnostics developer ANGLE (AGL) has signed a deal with MidLantic Urology, which will evaluate the Parsortix system for use in prostate cancer studies. There is also a master clinical study agreement with Solaris Health Holdings. MidLantic Urology is an affiliate of Solaris, and it is one of the largest providers of specialist urology services in the US. Initial results are expected in 2023.
Digital media company Digitalbox (DBOX) is acquiring the web and mobile assets of TVGuide.co.uk for £550,000, which includes payment for £180,000 of transitional services. This is an immediately earnings enhancing deal and it fits with the company’s Entertainment Daily brand. In 2021, the assets generated an operating profit of £150,000 on revenues of £490,000.
Escape room company XP Factory (XPF) increased revenues by 163% to £7m in 2021, which includes an initial contribution from Boom Battle Bar, which is a more food and drink-focused activity venue operator. The loss was sharply reduced. This year the venues will be operating from the start of the year and more outlets are being added. There are some combined Escape Hunt and Boom sites that are operated by the company, while other boom sites are franchised. There was £6.9m in the bank at the end of April 2022 and that will help to finance site opening plans. Management is able to find suitable locations at attractive rents. Current trading is ahead of expectations.
Technology investment companies Tern (TERN) and Pires Investments (PIRI) are merging to create a larger, more attractive investment proposition. Tern is offering 0.51613 of one share for each Pires share.
Data driven digital services provider Silver Bullet Data Services (SBDS) increased full year revenues from £2.79m to £3.81m, but growth is slower than previously thought. The company has developed a product that can replace the use of cookies, but the take-up has been slow. The loss remains significant. Silver Bullet is raising £2.39m at 100p a share and £2.11m through convertible loan notes, which are convertible at 110p a share.

Cloudbreak Discovery (CDL) is providing a $2m debenture to G2 to help finance the Masten Unit energy project in Texas in exchange for a 3.25% overriding royalty interest. There is a 12% interest rate which can be paid quarterly in cash or shares. G2 has issued 6.5 million warrants exercisable at 30 cents each.
Hawkwing (HNG) has £2.3m in cash and an investment in Internet Fusion Group valued at £14.4m. The potential reverse takeover of that company is not going ahead and Hawkwing wants to unwind the loan. After taking account of the convertible loan notes in issue, net assets were £2.51m at the end of 2021. Hawkwing is seeking acquisitions in digital marketing or medical or business services.
Mining, Minerals and Metals (MMM) has £200,000 in the bank at the end of January 2022. This will be used to help fund the due diligence on the proposed acquisition of Narnia Mauritius Gas, which owns a gas exploration licence in South Africa.

Nigeria-focused oil company Lekoil Ltd (LEK) made the switch from AIM to Aquis on 18 May. Trading in the shares will remain suspended until audited accounts are published. Lekoil is in dispute with Lekoil Nigeria, where it has a major interest, and former chief executive Mr Olaekan Akinyanmi, who is being funded by Lekoil Nigeria. The board wanted shareholders to have a trading facility, while the litigation is being pursued. The main source of assets will be the recovery of intercompany debts and there is likely to be little value in the oil and gas operations.
Valereum (VLRM) is still going through the regulatory process to acquire 90% of the Gibraltar Stock Exchange. There is a government review of the Gibraltar financial services community.
Quantum Exponential (QBIT) is investing £450,000 in Brighton-based Universal Quantum Ltd, which is trying to build the first million quantum bit quantum computers. The cash will help to develop the processing unit. The investment is via an advanced subscription agreement, and this will be converted into shares after one year or if there is a fundraising of at least £10m.
Hemp and CBD wellness products company Yooma Wellness Inc (YOOM) generated revenues of $10.2m in 2021, while the loss was $35.7m, including $22.5m of asset write-downs and £1m of listing costs. The company’s products are being rolled out in additional high street and online stores. The US operations are being rationalised and the focus moved to other markets.
SuperSeed Capital Ltd (WWW) made two investments in the first quarter of 2022. Investors in the company’s fund during January have already made a 43% gain. There was seed capital provided to the two investments. Ai Build is a software developer for 3D printing additive manufacturing, which will enable the 3D printing of larger objects. ThingTrax is developing technology that will help manufacturers to monitor and automate production.
RentGuarantor Holdings (RGG) has obtained a non-exclusive to use the Propertymark trademark in the UK. Propertymark has 18,000 of property letting and sales businesses. Propertymark will promote RentGuarantor rent guarantees for tenants.

Fishing tackle retailer Angling Direct (ANG) managed to beat previously upgraded forecasts for the year to January 2022. Revenues increased from £67.6m to £72.5m even though online sales fell. UK online sales increased but European online sales because of difficulties with prompt delivery. The new Netherlands distribution centre will help. There was £16.6m in cash at the end of January 2022. Pre-tax profit jumped from £2.7m to £4m, but this is not expected to be maintained. Singer forecasts a pre-tax profit of £2.8m on revenues of £82m in 2022-23.
Compliance and energy saving services provider Sureserve (SUR) continues to grow and it is set to supplement this growth with acquisitions in the energy efficiency and renewables sectors. Interim revenues from continuing operations increased by 24% to £126.2m, while pre-tax profit was one-third higher at £4.3m. The non-core fire and lift businesses are profitable, and they made a slightly higher pre-tax profit of £1.24m on revenues of £17.3m, which is not included under continuing operations. Those non-core businesses have net assets of £13.1m. Assuming Sureserve receives a similar amount when they are sold this would boost the cash position. There was £8.86m in the bank at the end of March 2022.
Designer and supplier of automotive interior components CT Automotive (CTA) reported its maiden full year results as an AIM company. There was a strong recovery in the first half, but component shortages have reduced the demand from car manufacturers in the second half. Even so, full year revenues recovered from $109.9m to $132.9m, although the company remained loss making. There is a strong order book, but revenues are still likely to be hit by lack of demand due to component shortages. These problems could last for most of this year with automotive volumes set to recover in 2023. A new factory in Mexico should be open in July.
Vela Technologies (VELA) invested £750,000 in convertible loan notes in EnSilica, which is about to join AIM. This investment should convert into 1.75 million shares, which is a 2.3% stake in the integrated circuits designer and supplier.
Chariot Ltd (CHAR) has raised £20.4m ($25.5m) at 18p a share and more could come via an open offer. This will help Chariot to make progress with the Anchois gas development in Morocco. Some of the cash will go on renewables projects.
Begbies Traynor (BEG) says 2021-22 results will be comfortably ahead of expectations and insolvencies are increasing.
Digital coupons and loyalty technology provider Eagle Eye (EYE) says that the roll out of services to a US retailer has helped 2021-22 EBITDA to potentially be 10% higher than expected.

Standard list shell BSF Enterprise (BSFA) completed the reverse takeover of Newcastle-upon-Tyne-based tissue engineering 3D Bio-Tissues Ltd for £2.5m in shares. There was £1.75m raised in a placing at 7.37p a share, which is the same price at which the 33.9m consideration shares were issued. That valued the company at £6.32m on readmission. The share price ended the week at 9p. There are three main types of technology that are being developed. City-mix is a serum-free media for culturing muscle and fat cells in an animal-free process that can be used to grow meat and leather in a laboratory. There is less variation between batches than for some rivals and it could cost less. Another technology is based on Lipopeptide Etsyl, which helps to increase collagen production in human skin cells, and it can be used dermatological products. This will be sold as an ingredient to skincare product manufacturers. The third technology is tissue templating. This includes the original substitute cornea technology, as well as other uses.
In the year to February 2021, Braemar Shipping Services (BMS) expects an underlying operating profit of £9.8m, up from £7.7m. The annual dividend will be two fifths higher at 7p a share. The operating profit expectations for 2022-23 have been upgraded from £10m to £12m.
Macfarlane Group (MACF) is buying German protective packaging distributor PackMann. This is a profitable business, and it will help Macfarlane to expand in northern Europe.
Nanoco (NANO) has received an official decision that its 47 disputed patent claims are valid. This is an important step in the legal proceedings against Samsung, which used its quantum dot technology without agreement. There is still some way to go, but a settlement could generate more than £100m for Nanoco, even after the litigation funder gets its payment.
Net Zero Infrastructure (NZI) is in talks to acquire specialist equipment hire company Taylor Construction Plant and Solar Highways. Trading in the shares has been suspended.

Good Energy (GOOD) is selling its 47.5MW of renewable generation capacity and then reinvest the cash. The portfolio is valued at £56.8m, with £39.1m of related debt, and could be sold in the first quarter of 2022. Good Energy is investing in the latest funding round for Zap Map and the disposal cash may be received at around the same time. The company is investing in its decentralised energy services platform, and this will be rolled out next year. There will be further investments in these areas. Competition has fallen away in the domestic energy supply market and management believes that more normal conditions could return next spring. There will be £2.5m of additional costs to cope with the knock-on effect of higher prices and the exit of rivals. There is still a possibility of achieving full year expectations.
Oberon Investments (OBE) nearly trebled revenues in the first half with the growth coming from the broking business. In the six months to September 2021, revenues improved from £1.2m to £3.4m, while funds under management were £765m at the end of the period. Investment management fees doubled, but corporate finance income jumped from £89,000 to £1.56m. Oberon moved from a loss of £514,000 to a pre-tax profit of £128,000. New product launches should enhance growth in funds under management, while the broking side remains busy.
Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) investor NFT Investments (NFT) is investing $250,000 in Afterparty Inc, a platform where creators generate revenues from music events. This was set up by former Disney executive David Fields.
Eastinco Mining and Exploration (EM.P) plans to acquire battery metals explorer Aterian Resources and move to the standard list. There will be a ten-for-one share consolidation and the company’s name will change to Aterian. AIM-quoted Altus Strategies (ALS) will become a major shareholder. A fundraising has raised £850,000 from convertible loans and £100,000 from shares at 1.5p each, which is the conversion price of the convertible loans. Aterian Resources has a portfolio of 15 exploration projects.
Investment company Gunsynd (GUN) had net assets of £6.3m, including £1.07m of cash, at the end of July 2021. Investee company Low6 still intends to float.
KR1 (KR1) has contributed 350,000 Polkadot tokens to the Acala Network auction. It already has more than 10.2 million Acala tokens and more will be received after 96 weeks, when the Polkadot tokens will be returned. A further 350,000 Polkadot tokens were contributed in the auction of smart contract platform Moonbeam Network. Again, these will be locked up for 96 weeks and a undecided number of Moonbeam tokens will also be received.
Newly crowned Aquis company of the year DXS International (DXSP) reported a small dip in interim revenues from £1.72m to £1.62m, while pre-tax profit fell from £151,000 to £21,000. The second half is expected to be stronger, although additional costs will hold back profit. The healthcare IT provider continues to develop its cloud-based product and it is accelerating the development of products aimed at long-term conditions, such as diabetes.

Marshall Motor Holdings (MMH) says that 64.4% shareholder Marshalls of Cambridge is thinking about selling its stake. Constellation Automotive has made it clear that it is interested.
Alien Metals (UFO) has acquired 30% of the Munni Munni project in Western Australia from ASX-listed Platina Resources for A$2.23m in shares and cash. This is one of the largest platinum group resources in Australia and it is near to the Elizabeth Hill project, which has platinum, silver, copper and nickel potential. Munni Munni has a historic non-compliant JORC resource estimate that suggests that there is 1.14 million ounces of palladium, 830,000 ounces of platinum, 152,000 ounces of gold and 76,000 ounces of rhodium. Artemis Resources owns the other 70%.
Telecoms billing and customer relationship management software provider Cerillion (CER) more than doubled its full year pre-tax profit from £3.7m to £8.5m, helped by much higher software revenues. New orders are building up and the order book is at record levels. The dividend was raised from 5.5p a share to 7.1p a share.
Driving safety technology developer Seeing Machines (SEE) has won its largest ever driver monitoring systems (DMS) order and raised £30.4m at 11p a share on the back of this announcement. The cash will be used for technology development and boost sales resources. The DMS deal, which has come through Magna International, is worth A$120m. In the year to June 2021, revenues improved from A$39.9m to $46.6m, while the loss was substantially reduced to A$16.7m.
Credit hire and legal services firm Anexo (ANX) has won a new contract with MCE Insurance to provide claims services for non-fault motorcycle accidents, which tends to be higher margin business. This will boost market share.
Appreciate (APPS) made the expected, although lower, loss in the first half, but the 50% increase in the interim dividend to 0.6p a share suggests confidence in the future. Revenues were 50% ahead at £41m with the faster growth coming in the consumer business even though the Christmas savings order book is lower. Appreciate has withdrawn from lower margin corporate business and there is volatility in bookings in recent months.
Asset management services provider MJ Hudson (MJH) achieved organic revenue growth of 14% and it is on course to grow full year revenues from £25.5m to £31m, helped by acquisitions, which would produce a pre-tax profit of £4m. Demand for ESG services is growing rapidly. On top of that, there is increasing outsourcing of the services provided by MJ Hudson.
Ashtead Technology (AT.) provides services and rents equipment to the offshore oil and gas and offshore wind markets. Services can be provided for installation, ongoing maintenance and decommissioning. It raised £15.5m at 162p a share to help it to grow internationally. The offshore wind services market is set to grow at 19% a year up until 2025. The shares ended the week at 162p.
Eneraqua Technologies (ETP) is well positioned to take advantage of the increasing focus on energy and water efficiency. It raised £12m at 277p a share and the shares ended the week at 285p. Eneraqua Technologies supplies and installs technology that improves energy and water efficiency in multiple occupancy social housing and commercial projects. The systems installed include the company’s Control Flow HL2024 technology, which will be manufactured in Spain. The order book for between August 2021 and January 2022 includes £22m of contracted revenues and there a further £21.3m of contracted revenues for the following two years.
Brickability (BRCK) is paying an initial £3.3m for HBS NE, which takes it into the renewable energy products market. It supplies and maintains solar, battery storage and electric vehicle charging. Brickability has relationships with housebuilders, which are being required to install EV charging points in new homes. Even before cross-selling, the deal is earnings enhancing.
Cyber security services provider Shearwater (SWG) reported a small decline in interim revenues due to lower services sales. Software revenues were flat, but margins improved. There is 50% visibility for second quarter revenues.
Treated sustainable wood producer Accsys Technologies (AXS) increased interim revenues by 31% in the first half. Accoya production remains limited because the new reactor will not go into service until next year. The Hull Tricoya plant will should commence production next July. The plans for the potential US Accoya plant are also progressing with a final investment decision expected in the next few months.
Omega Diagnostics (ODX) grew its health and nutrition revenues to pre-pandemic levels. Sales of the global health division also grew but Covid-19 test sales were disappointing. DAM Health has ordered £750,000 of tests since the end of the half year. Net cash was £3.9m at the end of September 2021. Omega remains loss making, and it is difficult to predict how quickly revenues will grow. There are some orders coming in for the VISITECT CD4 test.
Workflow technology provider ActiveOps (AOM) has improved gross margin and interim revenues grew by one-fifth. Annual recurring revenues are running at £19.8m.
MAIN MARKET
Packaging manufacturer and distributor Macfarlane (MACF) is trading ahead of expectations. Revenues are 25% higher than last year and the pre-tax profit is ahead of 2020. There are cost pressures and some customers have had supply problems elsewhere so their demand for packaging has reduced. Net debt was £2m at the end of October 2021.
BATM Advanced Communications (BVC) has announced a dividend of 0.74p a share.
JLEN Environmental (JLEN) is targeting a dividend of 6.8p a share in the year to March 2022. The interim dividend is more than covered by earnings. The portfolio of renewable energy and environmental assets has been diversified in recent years and that means that the company is not as dependent on revenues from wind power, which were hampered by low wind speeds in the period. Other assets performed well and there are plenty of investment opportunities in Europe. NAV is 98.4p a share.
Marine technology developer OTAQ (OTAQ) has secured a multi-year contract with Minnowtech. It will supply sonar technology for the jointly developed shrimp farming technology. Commercial launch is planned in Asia and the initial order will be more than $200,000. OTAQ owns 15.2% of Minnowtech. A major customer has given notice and OTAQ is seeking additional sources of funding.
Oxford Cannabinoid Technologies (OCTP) has signed an agreement with Dalriada Drug Discovery Inc of Canada, which will provide research and development services on compounds that Oxford Cannabinoid has access to via the Canopy Growth Corporation agreement.

Good Energy (GOOD) has followed the lapsed Ecotricity bid with a nine-month trading statement saying that the renewable energy supplier is on course to meet full year expectations. Good Energy is more than 90% hedged for the next 12 months, so there is limited exposure to the current price volatility. Price rises have been implemented. The 0.75p a share interim dividend is payable on 29 November and the ex-dividend date is 21 October. Finance director Rupert Sanderson has sold 14,800 shares at 335p each, while chief executive Nigel Pocklington bought 7,500 shares at 351.666p each.
Walls and Future REIT (WAFR) is engaging with new investors so that there are buyers for the 10% of the share capital where investors are not long-term holders. This is holding back the share price and causing the high discount to NAV, according to management. The company has completed the design of its autism friendly housing.
CBD products supplier Voyager Life (VOY) generated revenues of £65,000 from incorporation to the end of September 2021. Monthly overheads are less than £50,000. There is £1.8m in the bank. New stores are opening in Edinburgh and Dundee.
Yooma Wellness Inc (YOOM) has acquired CBD products manufacturer N8 Essentials for 1.17 million shares issued at 67.3 cents a share. N8 has a 14,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Kansas. This will enable more group production to be brought in house.
Sativa Wellness (SWEL) has launched an online telemedicine service. This enables patients to follow up tests with a virtual medical consultation.
KR1 (KR1) is participating in the Kintsugi crowdloan and Kusama (KSM) parachain auction. KR1 contributed 5,000 KSM to the crowdloan.
Altona Natural Resources (ANR) has started drilling at the Monte Muambe project in Mozambique. This will improve the understanding of the geological model and test four newly identified targets.
The requisition for a general meeting at British Honey (BHC) has been withdrawn. Richard Day has been reappointed chairman and Mark Gamble as an executive director. Alex Maurice has stepped down from the board but continues to be employed by the company.
Hydro Hotel Eastbourne (HYDP) non-exec director CP Freeman has bought 800 shares at 884p each. David Evans has a 7.61% stake in Oberon Investments (OBE).

Light Science Technologies (LST) is a contract electronics manufacturer and a developer of controlled environment agriculture technology, which joined AIM on 15 October. The agricultural technology being developed helps farmers to maximise crop productivity and monitor the growing environment. The company’s LED lighting range is called nurturGrow Luminaire and the nurturGROW sensor is being developed. There was £5m raised at 10p a share and the price ended the first day at 11.5p. The cash raised in the flotation will be used to expand facilities and increase marketing.
Floorcoverings manufacturer Victoria (VCP) has achieved record interim earnings. The UK has been a strong market, but Australia has been tougher. The full year outcome is likely to be ahead of expectations. Peel Hunt has upgraded its full year pre-tax profit forecast from £58.3m to £65m.
Branded furnishings and wallcoverings supplier Sanderson Design Group (SDG) improved interim pre-tax profit by 22% to £6m on a 48% increase in revenues. North American and UK sales were strong, and the manufacturing business bounced back. Management plans to generate more income from the archive of past patterns and designs. Net cash is £15.4m. Sanderson is on course to achieve an increase in full year pre-tax profit from £7.1m to £10.9m.
Eqtec (EQT) plans to acquire a 5MW project in Drama, Greece, which will generate energy from forestry waste. Financial close should be achieved for the project in the third quarter of 2022. There is also an additional £2.1m of investment in the North Fork project in California, which increases the stake from 10% to 49%. The 2MW biomass to energy project has been delayed due to fires and Covid. A $4.5m convertible loan facility has been provided to the development.
CyanConnode (CYAN) says interim revenues were £4.1m and it is well on the way to £9.4m of revenues for the full year. The narrowband radio frequency networks company continues to lose money, but cash levels should improve.
Motor dealer Vertu Motors (VTU) recorded record first half results despite supply problems for new vehicles. Used car prices have been rising because of the shortage of new vehicles. In the six months to August 2021, revenues increased from £1.2bn to £1.92bn. Underlying pre-tax profit soared from £4.7m to £51.8m, which is more than treble the first half of 2019-20. Net cash is £57.3m. The interim dividend has been re-established at 0.65p a share. The net tangible asset value is 61.5p a share.
High street sales recovered at fishing tackle retailer Angling Direct (ANG) despite being closed in the first ten weeks of the first half and online sales continued to grow. In the six months to July 2021, revenues improved from £32.1m to £38.4m with high street sales increasing by two-fifths. Online sales were 2% ahead. Pre-tax profit jumped from £1.36m to £3.72m, which includes government lockdown support. Full year pre-tax profit is expected to increase from £2.6m to £3.5m.
Driving safety technology developer Seeing Machines (SEE) has signed a framework agreement with Shell Global Solutions for its Guardian driver distraction and fatigue technology. Deployments should start later this year. Shell has 20,000 vehicles, compared with the total number of 31,771 vehicles using Guardian technology. Seeing Machines has also set up an EU sales team with a headquarters in Amsterdam.
Gresham House Strategic (GHS) has decided to change its investment manager from Gresham House Asset Management to Harwood Capital, where its previous investment manager Richard Staveley moved earlier this year, and Gresham House (GHE) has requisitioned a general meeting in order to have the company’s cash distributed to shareholders and the portfolio of investments liquidated over a 24-month period. Gresham House has a 23.3% stake in Gresham House Strategic and claims the backing of 40% of the share capital. The opposition to the move owns 30% of the company. Harwood intends to invest in the company, and it will generate lower fees, which will save the company £270,000.
Iodine company Iofina (IOF) produced 142.7 MT of crystalline iodine in the third quarter of 2021 and that underpins full year forecasts. Iodine prices continue to rise and recently hit $40/kg.

LED lighting and wiring accessories supplier Luceco (LUCE) has acquired DW Windsor, an exterior lighting business, for £16.9m in cash. In the year to September 2021, operating profit was £1.9m.
Highway Capital (HWC) has finally found a suitable reverse takeover target, although there is no firm agreement. There will be a fundraising alongside the purchase of esports adviser and investor Guinevere Capital Esports & Entertainment. No purchase price has been announced
Oxford Cannabinoid Technologies (OCTP) has acquired medical assets from Canopy Growth Corporation, which provides access to cannabinoid derivatives and will help the company to develop additional drug projects. The lead compound OCT461201, which is a potential neuropathic pain treatment, is progressing towards clinical trials in the third quarter of 2022.
