Good Life Plus (GDLF) raised £275,000 from a convertible loan note issue that expires on 31 August 2025 when it can be repaid at a 10% premium or converted into shares at a 10% discount to the weighted average price over the previous month. If there is £2m raised in a share issue, then the loan notes are immediately convertible at a 10% discount to the issue price. The coupon is 10%. Following this issue, a partnership was announced with a major UK mobile operator. Good Life Plus will offer promotions to help with engagement with tens of millions of subscribers. This will provide access to potential subscribers to the Good Life Plus platform. There should be other partnerships in the coming months. The share price increased 3.28% to 3.15p. This is a new high for the shar price.
It is taking longer than anticipated Invinity Energy Systems (IES) even though the long duration energy storage market is growing. More time is required to develop the Mistral next-gen product to reduce costs. There is uncertainty about the timing of the recognition of revenues. The 2024 revenues were expected to be £36.3m, but it is likely to be lower. Jonathan Marren is replacing Larry Zulch as chief executive. There was £49.2m in the bank at the end of June 2024.
ProBiotix Health (PBX) is raising £1.2m at 3.36p/share. OptiBiotix Health (LON: OPTI) is unhappy with the latest fundraise by ProBiotix Health and claims a typo in the AGM notice means that it should not be allowed to issue more shares except on a pre-emptive basis. The company previously said that it had enough cash. ProBiotix Health believes that the error is not relevant. The underlying problem seems to be the high discount of the fundraising price to the market price.

The deal will secure a steady supply of recyclable materials and should improve margins. In 2021, Telecycle Europe mad a post-tax profit of £175,000. The initial payment is £150,000 and then monthly of payments of £150,000. The full amount is dependent on volumes being met.

Weak demand from independent restaurants and bars in the UK and internationally held back the interims of ceramic products manufacturer Churchill China (CHH). Independents are suffering from higher costs. Demand from national chains has held up better. Revenues fell from £44m to £40.6m, while the underlying pre-tax profit edged up from £4.7m to £4.8m. This is because capital investment has helped to improve margins. The interim dividend was raised 4.5% to 11.5p/share. The full year outcome is dependent on fourth quarter trading.
Agricultural products supplier Camellia (CAM) says trading conditions eased slightly in the first half of 2024, but they are still difficult. Signing up Donlim Group for a filtration technology licence did not offset the weaker trading news at laundry filtration technology developer Xeros Technology (XSG). Indian licensee IFB has delayed the launch of new 9kg washing machine until next year and French environmental standards for microplastics have not been clarified. Donlim owns the Morphy Richards brand, and it will manufacture the XF3 external filter under licence from the middle of next year. The 2024 pre-tax loss estimate has been raised from £2.7m to £4.3m. Real-time financial data provider Arcontech (ARC) increased full year revenues by 7% to £2.9m and pre-tax profit improved from £1m to £1.1m. More than 90% of revenues are recurring. Net cash was £7.2m at the end of June 2024. The dividend has been raised to 3.75p/share. Pre-tax profit is set to fall this year because of investment in sales.
Andrew Carter has resigned as chief executive of wines producer Chapel Down Group (CDGP) and will become the boss of Timothy Taylor next year. Interim revenues fell 11% to £7.12m due to a slump in off-trade sales. There was not the expected restocking by retailers. Pre-tax profit slumped to £40,000. In the year to January 2024, geospatial data company 1Spatial (SPA) improved underlying pre-tax profit from £1.8m to £2.1m. The SaaS-based products are at an early stage of commercialisation, and it will take time for growth in business to show through in recognised revenues. The 1Streetworks product has already been taken up by UK Power Networks. The company generates cash from operations, but this did not cover capitalised development spending, which meant that 1Spatial’s net cash was reduced to £1.1m. Capital spending should have peaked. This year there should be enough cash generated to cover the development spending.
US-based uranium and critical minerals producer Energy Fuels is offering 0.026 of a share and an unfranked dividend of A$0.065 for each Base Resources (BSE) share. That is currently equivalent to A$0.302/share. This is a recommended bid and values Base Resources at A$375m. Two major shareholders owning 51.3% in total intend to support the bid. This will help to fund the development of Base Resources’ Toliara rare earth project in Madagascar.
Filtronic (FTC) has secured a £15.8m order for E-band amplifiers from SpaceX, which is part of a five-year strategic partnership. SpaceX is receiving warrants over up to 10% of the telecommunications technology developer. The first tranche is exercisable when £30m of orders have been made for E-band amplifiers and the second when there is a similar level of orders for other products. This sparked an upgrade by Cavendish, which raised its 2023-24 pre-tax profit forecast by one-third to £3.3m and the 2024-25 figure by 180% to £6.4m.
Donald McGarva is stepping down as chief executive of Aferian (AFRN) and leave the video streaming technology developer in October. There are delays in purchases of Amino video streaming devices. Costs have already been reduced and a further $3m will be cut. Management hopes to extend the borrowing facility of $16.5m that matures in November.
Vehicles provider for film and TV productions Facilities by ADF (ADF) was hit by the writers’ strike in 2023 and pre-tax profit fell from £4.8m to £900,000. Audio products supplier Focusrite (TUNE) had already warned that the interims would be weak. In the six months to February 2024, revenues fell from £86.2m to £76.9m and pre-tax profit slipped from £10.9m to £3.4m. Working capital movements led to a large cash outflow so net debt increased to £27.3m, but that should partly unwind in the second half. The decline was in content creation equipment, whereas there was growth in revenues in audio reproduction equipment used for live events.
Sanderson Design Group (SDG) was boosted by growth in high margin brand licencing revenues and that helped to offset the decline in brand sales. Morris & Co was the only brand that did not contract during the year to January 2024. In 2023-24, revenues dipped from £112m to £108.6m and pre-tax profit edged down from £12.6m to £12.2m. North America was the bright spot. Costs have been reduced in the manufacturing operations. Net cash is £16.3m. Pre-tax profit is likely to be flat this year as most markets remain difficult.
Destiny Pharma (DEST) is exploring strategic options for post-surgical infection prevention treatment XF-73, including licensing and securing finance for the phase 3 trial. i3 Energy (I3E) has published annual production guidance of 18,000-19,000 barrels of oil equivalent/day. Capital expenditure is expected to be $50.9m in 2024 and this means that production should be much higher at the end of year. Earnings are set to fall from £11.8m to £4m because of a decline in the gas price – although a recovery is expected. The annual dividend will be lower at 1.026p/share. Gear4Music returned to profit in the year to March 2024 and pre-tax profit is estimated at £1.4m and it could double next year. Net debt nearly halved to £7.3m. Chief executive Andrew Wass will become executive chairman and Gareth Bevan will take over his previous role.
Trellus Health (TRLS), which develops programmes for managing chronic conditions, still had net cash of $12.2m at the end of 2023 and this should last into the middle of 2025. Revenues were modest at £19,000, but a large-scale pilot was signed with United Healthcare earlier this year and patients are being enrolled. This and other contracts will initially generate modest revenues, but they are important in proving the effectiveness of the company’s technology.

#TEK Tekcapital Plc – Guident Update
Tekcapital Plc (AIM: TEK, OTCQB: TEKCF), the UK intellectual property investment group is pleased to present the technology update for Guident Corp, the US based subsidiary of Guident Ltd.
As part of our enhanced investor relations communications, we intend to release a series of newsletters focused on the technology of each portfolio company. We believe most shareholders understand the value proposition behind the product of each portfolio company, however the product roadmap has been progressing rapidly and we think it’s helpful to Keep everyone up to date on key developments.
Our initial discussion will cover Guident’s unique technology offerings:
1. Vehicle Remote Monitoring and Control Centre (RMCC)
Guident’s teleoperations solutions consist of two main components. A small footprint communications device and the RMCC (remote monitoring and control centre) software solution.
The communications device connects to several miniature high-definition video cameras and includes connectivity to both public (4G & 5G) wireless and private Long Term Evolution (LTE) networks.
The RMCC consists of a cloud-based software solution connected to the Autonomous Vehicle (AV) fleets and to Guident’s RMCC. Guident’s solution is AV agnostic and can interact with any vehicle’s drive-by-wire system via ROS (robot operating system) or Application Programming Interface (API) integration.
The remote-control centre consists of multiple RCO (remote-control operator) stations equipped with vehicle controls including steering wheel, accelerator, and stop pedals as well as high-definition curved monitor displays. Large dashboard video wall-type displays provide real-time status of the AV fleets being controlled. RCOs continuously monitor their assigned AV fleet which is displayed with green labels, except when the AV encounters an edge case, at which point it stops and requests human assistance while changing its label from green to red. At that point, the RCO through the HD video cameras gains situational awareness to inspect the specific edge case. The RCO then takes control of the vehicle and remotely drives it around the obstruction or situation, and then returns control to the AV system to continue its mission path, at this point the vehicle is displayed with a green label.
Besides the green and red IRL (incident risk levels), Guident provides a yellow label through its patented Artificial Intelligence-based IRL predictive module. This module interacts with multiple data sources to analyze and predict the situations that may possibly disrupt the AV mission path. Data sources include vehicle sensor data, AV performance analysis, scene understanding, real-time traffic, work zone, weather, and other information. The assigned RCO is able to focus on the yellow IRL-level vehicles to attempt to anticipate the situation that may interrupt the mission path and turn the AV IRL to green status.
Current autonomy trends and concerns, and why this technology is needed.
The current state of technology in the automotive industry is experiencing a shift to driverless vehicles. For this reason, automated supervision or safety driver roles will be critical for decades to come for all levels of automation before reaching full autonomy SAE level 5.
We believe human supervised RMCC services enhances the safety and provides redundancy whilst implementing remote driverless solutions for various field use cases, including military applications.
Infrastructure requirements for implementation (e.g., hardware, software, facilities and network connections
There are three (3) components required for human supervised RMCC services for driverless or autonomous vehicles:
1. RMCC – Remote Monitor and Control Centre
· Remote-control operator stations include vehicle controls (steering wheel, pedals, other vehicle functions, etc.)
· Control centre monitoring display dashboards.
2. In-vehicle equipment
· For vehicle location, a GPS device in autonomous vehicles, with RTK capabilities for precise location.
· For remote teleoperation:
GUIDENT RMCC communication in-vehicle equipment.
Public/Private/Military mobile 5G/4G/LTE wireless network.
3. Cloud service – private or private software telecom services, including AWS, Azure, Google, etc.
Benefits
The main benefits of human-supervised remote monitoring and control of driverless and autonomous vehicles include providing an additional layer of safety via remote operations to address edge cases and protection of humans from dangerous or unforeseen activities including but not limited to:
· deadlock situations
· navigation errors
· accidents
· allowing vehicle passengers to ask for information or assistance.
Based on ongoing conversations with potential customers, the company identified more potential applications including:
· remote operation of material handling (teleoperation services of remote forklifts and other material handling equipment for warehouses)
· remote operation of agricultural equipment
· remote operation of mining equipment
· remote operation of unmanned vehicles for military
The solution also creates cost savings achieved by proactive and predictive vehicle maintenance and support.
Guident is uniquely positioned to provide its teleoperation software stack protected by an intellectual property portfolio that includes seven (7) teleoperation-specific patents (5 granted & 2 pending) and copywritten software code for what we believe to be amongst the lowest glass-to-glass latency in the industry. In addition, we believe that Guident is the leading US-based teleoperation software solution providers that delivers a unique approach to teleoperations with its proprietary custom prediction module based on vehicle telemetry and field conditions data.
The business case for Guident has never been stronger and it includes following data points:
– low latency connectivity and teleoperation is necessary for safer and cost-effective adoption of AVs. Guident’s methods and systems will help increase safety and help bridge the gap from Level 3 to Level 5 autonomy.
– RMCC is fast becoming a legal requirement in numerous states in the US and other countries

2. Regenerative Shock Absorbers (RSA)
RSA continuously recover the vehicle’s vibration energy that is otherwise dissipated as heat and friction. RSA’s convert the wasted heat energy into power, generating additional energy for recharging the vehicle battery to extend the vehicle’s range, or to provide energy to power other vehicle components. Anticipated benefits include:
– Enhanced Sustainability for all vehicles in the fleet, including traditionally powered Internal Combustion Engine, hybrid and electric vehicles
– Increased Energy Harvesting Efficiency by approximately 70% compared to current energy-harvesting shock absorbers
– Increase range of EVs by up to 6-12 miles per charge
– It can be tuned to match existing shock absorber damping characteristics and form factors
Recently the company evaluated a series of real-world RSA use conditions in their testing laboratory in Boca Raton, Florida. With precise force and displacement measurements, they are seeking to rigorously evaluate and quantify the advantages of their proprietary energy-harvesting shock absorbers over traditional oil-filled shock absorbers.

On June 6th, CAR published FY year results for the year ended 31 March 2017. FY PBT more than doubled to £10.5m (2016: £3.9m) on revenues 16.2% higher at £138.3m. Underlying operating margin increased by 60bps from 8.4% to 9.0%, while EPS rose to 11.5 pence (2016: 3.3 pence). CAR reported a strong order book and momentum into the new financial year, prompting upbeat comments from Chairman Michael Derbyshire: “Having exited the year with record order intake and pipeline, we remain on course to deliver strong improvements in returns over the coming years to our shareholders.”
This exceptionally strong improvement in numbers had already been flagged up by the VectorVest stock screening system as far back as the January trading update. Flags from the system include the VST -Vector master indicator that ranks every stock in the VectorVest database. The VST metric logs CAR at 1.25, which is excellent on a scale of 0.00 to 2.00. Also the VectorVest GRT (Earnings Growth Rate), which reflects one to three year forecasted earnings growth in percent per year, currently shows forecasted GRT for CAR of 21.00%, which again VectorVest considers to be excellent. In terms of valuation, VectorVest logs a current rating of 212p per share, indicating CAR is currently undervalued at its current 167p.
The chart of CAR.L is shown above using a weekly candlestick format. As always the green line study above the price charts the VectorVest calculated valuation of the share while the blue line study is the earnings per share (EPS). The share has been consolidating within a five wave ascending triangular formation for the last three years. In this time EPS has grown significantly. The share is on a VectorVest Buy signal and is nearing a breakout of the ascending triangle for the fourth time. Markets normally break on the fourth attempt and with the improved fundamentals a breakout looks highly probable. The technical target from the breakout would be around 240p.
Summary: Regular readers of my articles will note that I am a fan of companies such as Carclo that manufacture a diverse range of fixtures and fittings covering a wide range of industries and applications. Trifast is another similar example discussed here several times previously. Those readers will also note that VectorVest metrics flagged the opportunity at CAR long before the spike higher in the share price that has taken place over the past few weeks. This diversity and impressive growth in cash generation marks out CAR as a quality and enduring investment opportunity, despite the recent share price movement. Buy.
