Growing demand for batteries for electric cars and power 
storage is driving increased investment in lithium mining in Western Australia. WA is currently supplying more than 40 per cent of the world’s lithium and a new mine in the Pilbara is the latest in a string of investments in the industry. The West Australian Government is now encouraging industry to build a battery factory in the state to capitalise on the boom.
