Marshall’s MSLH is enjoying a robust order intake and revenue for the 11 months to 30th November rose by 8%.  International sales which were up by 2% were down 5% in sterling terms. With strong trading the Board has increased its expectations which are now ahead of its previous view.

Whitbread WTB Both Costa and Premier Inns are still roaring ahead. Premier has had an 84% occupancy rate, like for like sales for the 39 weeks to to 26th November rose by 4.9% and total sales by 11.9%. 1818 rooms have been opened out of the 5,500 planned for the current  year.  Costa’s total worldwide sales were ahead by 15.3% and like for like sales by 3.7%.

Sports Direct SPD. claims its interim results are excellent for the 6 months to 25th October. Gross profit rose by 5.2% and underlying profit before tax by 3.6%. Significantly it is continuing to open large city centre stores, rather than out of town shopping malls – so yah boo sucks to Tesco et al.

Powerflute oyj  POWR has performed strongly in the second half and is positive about the full year outlook

Mulberry Group MUL has managed to get back into profit, albeit only tiny one, for the half year to the end of September. Total revenue rose by 5% and last years half time loss of £1.1m was turned into a profit of £0.1m
