October 2018: Fedr8 issues an update to shareholders

Fedr8 the machine learning technology developer has had a transformational 12 months. The highlights of this period include;

  • The launch of the Green Rain application analytics solution
  • The successful validation of the efficacy of Green Rain’s static source code analysis by three of the world’s largest Global footprint systems integrators.
  • Entered into commercial/ contractual negotiations with two of these Global businesses
  • Building and user training about to start on a production environment for our first paying customer
  • Developed a customisable presentation layer to suit every Partners bespoke needs
  • Leon Zackoski a US based machine learning engineer is developing a new COBOL module, opening up the world’s largest legacy software issue to Green Rain Analysis

The past year has seen Fedr8 launch a new product, Green Rain 1.0, which superseded the Argentum development product. Green Rain has been built using extensive industry feedback from proof of concept trials with the Argentum product and has an intuitive presentation layer which is more precise and usable than the Argentum product. The latest iteration of Green Rain 1.4 is now fully customisable by warning and category by end users and partners allowing the screening of analysis to even more granular depth.

This more granular analysis means that the time saved by developers to analyse as to whether to retire, rewrite or update an application before a move to cloud is now accelerated yet further. The time savings envisaged by customers in this process is weeks and even months per application analysed. In software estates that number into the thousands of applications the potential savings run into the multiple millions.

The commercial model preferred by the companies we are in discussions with is a consumption model. This would mean Fedr8 supply a blue printed technical specification for an environment for the Green Rain software to run on. This would be hosted on our partners infrastructure and they would pay for the associated ongoing running costs. The Partner would then pay a multi-year licence to use each installed platform.

Fedr8 is now confident that it will be a revenue generating company over the next six months as existing relationships and negotiations become fee paying contractual relationships and new engagements mature.

Entering a global enterprise market with a new and disruptive technology has taken longer than Fedr8 expected with sales lead times stretching to 12 months and longer and on behalf of the company I thank shareholders for their support and patience throughout this process.

Fedr8’s Green Rain: Cloud-ready solutions from complex legacy software applications – Proactive Investors

Fedr8 Sales Director Richard Beckensall & advisor Derek Ward talk Proactive’s Andrew Scott through Green Rain, the business strategy and current fundraising via technology partners Sentient Capital and Crowdcube.

”Fedr8 came to market in 2008, initially as a consultancy firm, helping technology partners and resellers in the industry understand a bit more about cloud – how it was going to impact their revenue models”, Beckensall says.

”We’ve grown through automation of process and because of that journey we stumbled somewhat across the ability to automate the discovery process for applications”, he adds.

Discussing why Ward chose to get involved with Fedr8, he says: ”I’ve had a privileged opportunity to look at tech around the world .. and those positions lead me to being able to see what UK tech could do”.

”I got involved with UK tech particularly helping organisations I felt had brilliant ideas, really smart people and importantly people running them who’ve got the credentials of having taken businesses and scaled them”.

”In this cloud market place … the people who will win are the people who can accelerate the growth”, Ward says.

Green Rain, which launched back in September 2017, automates application discovery and helps support customers to make fast decisions, at scale and with greater efficiency.

Multichannel Podcast – Brand CEO Alan Green discusses Fedr8 Green Rain with Neil Butland of Sentient Capital

Multichannel Podcast – Brand CEO Alan Green discusses Fedr8 and #GreenRain IT archaeology with Neil Butland of Sentient Capital.

Neil discusses Sentient Capital’s role in identifying high potential growth company investment opportunities for their HNW client base.

Looking at Fedr8, Neil explains how Green Rain works to analyse thousands of legacy applications, and how it saves a huge amount of time and money. He compares a typical coding task: a contractor on daily rate can take 40-50 days to complete analysis and coding requirements for a single app, in comparison to Green Rain, which takes just 24 hours and can run thousands of tasks simultaneously. These factors have resulted in Sentient Capital successfully completing two fundraising rounds for Fedr8 prior to the current Crowdcube fundraising campaign.

An opportunity to own shares in Fedr8, a Great British cloud software company

Award winning machine learning software company Fedr8 has launched a crowdfunding campaign to accelerate the roll-out of its Green Rain machine learning software.

Fedr8’s Green Rain accelerates the transformation of legacy software applications into fully cloud ready modern applications. Using its proprietary machine learning engine, Green Rain interrogates software at a code level showing where code in the software needs to be changed to suit the major cloud companies’ cloud platforms. Instead of taking several man-weeks of effort, the time required for the analysis is reduced to a few machine-hours.

Almost without exception, major international companies and institutions wish to move to the cloud in order to capitalise on the efficiencies and economies that the cloud brings. These large organisations face a unique set of challenges; to move and modernise many thousands of legacy applications they first need to understand the DNA of those applications.

Fedr8’s Green Rain has already attracted keen interest from several large banks and 2 Global Systems Integrators are actively engaged in Proofs of Concepts to adopt Green Rain as a core component of their Global Cloud Factory offerings. Given these levels of endorsement a Crowdcube Crowdfunding campaign has been launched to raise £400,000 to accelerate the roll-out of Green Rain.

CEO Damion Greef; “This is a world-changing piece of Great British machine learning software” “The legacy issues of outdated infrastructures are well documented…and in many cases have impacted on our day to day lives.”

Fedr8 – Crowdcube launch Green Rain crowdfunding campaign

Cloud software company Fedr8 has launched a crowdfunding campaign to accelerate the roll-out of its award-winning Green Rain product.

Fedr8’s Green Rain seamlessly migrates multi-vintage legacy applications to the cloud with its proprietary artificial intelligence engine. It interrogates software at a code level allowing the code in the software to be changed to suit the major cloud companies’ cloud platforms. Instead of taking several man-weeks of effort, the time required for the analysis is reduced to a few machine-hours.

Almost without exception, major international companies and institutions wish to move to the cloud in order to capitalise on the efficiencies and economies that the cloud brings. Equally, every organisation faces a unique set of challenges to make their legacy applications cloud ready.

Fedr8’s Green Rain has already been accepted by several large banks to drive Proofs of Concept, a major endorsement. This early success triggered the £400k Crowdcube Crowdfunding campaign launch, with the funds raised earmarked to accelerate the product roll-out.

“This is a world-changing piece of Great British machine learning software”, explained CEO Damion Greef. “The legacy issues of outdated infrastructures are well documented…and in many cases have impacted on our day to day lives.”

“Early endorsements of Green Rain by major banking institutions have provided ample proof that our solution is already saving money and man hours, hence our decision to launch a fundraising campaign across Crowdcube to accelerate the roll-out of Green Rain.”
