Bellway plc BWY exceeded the 10,000 homes barrier for the first time in its history, with volume rising by 6.9%.Revenue for the year to the 31st July grew by 15.6% followed by substantial growth in earnings which saw the total dividend increased by 17.2% per share. Profit before tax and earnings per share rose by 14.3% and 14.2% respectively. The order book is strong and the only risk is seen as the possible damage to consumer confidence if Brexit tuns out to be a mess.
British Am. Tobacco BATS updates that it continues to perform well and will once again exceed its high single figure earnings per share growth target in 2018. Its global vapour business is expected to deliver double digit volume and revenue growth in 2018.
Anglo American plc AAL announces the value of rough diamond sales for De Beers’ eighth sales cycle of 2018, amounted to $475 million.compared to 376m a year ago, although the Rupee-Dollar exchange rate impacted demand for lower value categories.
Meggitt plc MGGT claims that trading in the third quarter has been stronger than previously anticipated as a result of improving market conditions and strong performance across the Group’s Civil Aerospace and Defence segments. Total organic revenue growth for 2018 is now seen at 7 to 8% compared to the previous estimate of 4 to 6%. Growth in air traffic led to 9% growth in Civil Aftermarket revenues.
Footasylum plc FOOT found the half year to the 25th August was difficult, with tough conditions on the high street and delays in new store openings. Despite that, revenue for the half year grew by 19% to £98.6m,compared to : £83.2m in the previous year but profitability was impacted both by lower overall gross margins and extensive investments with the result that last years profit of £2.3m disappeared and was replaced by a loss of £4.0m.
